I ordered a suitcase because I need to travel across the country soon to see my grandfather since he is not doing well, and I did not have a suitcase.
When I received it, it was covered in glue. The glue was so bad that my dogs hair was sticking to it. I decided that contacting customer service and exchanging it was not worth the hassle, so I decided to just deal with the bad product that I received. I posted a negative review on their website about the product, including pictures of glue all over the suitcase, asking them to do better. The review went live, and I thought that was that.
A couple of weeks later, I then started to get emails from them asking me to review the product several days in a row. Imagine my confusion since I already had reviewed the product. So I went on their website to investigate, and they had taken both my review and the pictures down.
Swiss Gear used to have excellent quality products and craftsmanship, I’ve had the same two backpacks from them for over 10 years and they’re still in excellent condition. The suitcase that I got recently was horrendous.
And now removing customer reviews that are negative? What is up with that?
Edit: I forgot to mention that they also emailed me repetitively, despite opting out of emails from them. Nothing turns me off from a company quicker than not honoring my decision to opt out of emails.
I bought a middle-of-the-pack laptop backpack that was on sale from Swiss Gear and it has carried me through 4 years of almost daily use in undergrad and grad school. It has been subjected to a fair amount of abuse from its contents, rainstorms, and subzero winters but is still in one piece and chugging along just fine. I was so impressed by its quality that I bought a larger laptop backpack from Swiss Gear to use as a carryon bag for when I fly. So far, I have no complaints about that backpack either.
